Design for mutualism

Mutualism is the way two organisms of different species exist in a relationship in which each individual benefits. Inspired by this natural phenomenon, we were asked to create 1 product for 3 companies. Those companies were IPS (injection moulding), Europal (cardboard) and Abriso (protective packaging foam).

Flightpack

Packaging is usually designed only to transport a product from factories to customers. Once the costumer has unpacked the product he is left with a box which is too clumsy to use for everyday transportation.

The flightpack upgrades packaging to an ergonomic solution that is easy to use and more durable. This fulfills the basic transportion and storage needs of the beginning as well as occasional users.

Although multiple materials are used in the product, they are all recyclable and easy to disassemble.

The top cover folds over and raises the keyboard to a proper playing position when it's used on a regular table.

A cutout on the back side provides easy acces to connections for power and audio outputs.

Aimed at entry level musical instruments where the cost of a real flightcase is too high compared to the price of the instrument itself.
